In drupe, every contact has a round avatar next to it.
Automatically, it'll be populated by your contact's initials, for example: The avatar of the contact John Doe will be JD. An unsaved number will have # in its avatar.
By dragging these avatars or by double-tapping them, you can initiate different actions with your contacts. But how do you add contact pictures to these avatars?
drupe can import contact images from your local phone book. To add a contact picture:
- Drag the contact to the bottom of the screen.
- A pop-up bar will appear - drop the contact where it says "Edit". Their phone book entry will be displayed.
- To edit the info, tap the options button and select Edit.
- Tap the contact picture field, and select to add a photo from the gallery or take a picture using the camera.
- Tap save.
You're done! Your contact now has a photo. It'll appear in its drupe avatar.
drupe can also import contact pictures from WhatsApp notifications - if your contact does not have a contact photo, once they send you a WhatsApp message which you will get a notification for pull it from the notification center of your device. It's not a 100% bulletproof, but sometimes it's just what you need!
